Strategic Pricing of Medical Services — Building Value, Stability, and Professional Authority in Private Practice Prof. Hatem Eleishi

This session is designed for doctors who want to understand pricing as a structural and strategic component of their clinic—not just a number placed on the consultation.

A focused session for doctors who want to move beyond reactive pricing and understand how pricing influences patient behavior, perceived value, and the stability of their private practice.

Most doctors approach pricing as a simple decision: how much to charge for a consultation. In reality, pricing in private practice is far more complex. It is a structural element that directly affects the type of patients you attract, the nature of interactions inside your clinic, the level of professional respect you receive, and the long-term sustainability of your work.

Many doctors work hard and provide high-quality care, yet still face repeated discussions about fees, resistance to pricing, and a sense that their effort is not adequately valued. While economic conditions and patient affordability do play a role, they do not fully explain these challenges. A major part of the issue lies in how pricing is designed, positioned, and consistently applied within the clinic system.

In this session, pricing is reframed as a strategic tool rather than a financial detail. You will understand how patients perceive value, why the same price may be accepted in one setting and resisted in another, and how pricing shapes expectations and behavior before the consultation even begins. You will also explore the psychological dynamics behind price resistance, and how unstructured pricing leads over time to continuous pressure, negotiation, and gradual erosion of both value and authority.

The session also addresses an important reality in many developing environments: the ongoing pressure on professional pricing and the normalization of negotiation. You will learn how to recognize these dynamics and how to respond to them in a way that preserves both your system and your professional integrity.

In addition, we will discuss the ethical dimension of pricing and how to balance sustainability with fairness when dealing with patients with different circumstances—without compromising the structure of your clinic.

By the end of this session, you will have a clearer understanding of pricing as part of a larger system that includes positioning, patient behavior, and clinic design. You will be able to move from reactive, situation-based decisions to a more structured and consistent approach that supports both your professional stability and the quality of care you provide.
